EMF Radiation from TRANSMISSION LINES in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Homes are build very close to electrical transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur (the big power lines) which is clear to locals but to foreigners it is even more obvious because there are not many cities where it is this bad as it is in KL. Most countries allow constructions close to the radiation of transmission lines because very old research (which looked only at when tissue got heated) indicated that high levels are ok. In the meantime we know better and much research indicated links to cancer, childhood leukaemia and fertility issues like sperm abnormalities. Sadly governments can’t go back and condemn whole apartment building as uninhabitable, so those who suffer seem to be an economical loss. It is up to you to investigate this and work to keep your family safe.
Are transmission power lines close to homes bad for health?
There is what would seem an undeniable amount of proof that magnetic field radiation that is emitted also by transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur, is harmful for health. From working with our health clients over the last near 40 years and assessing their homes for EMF radiation, we’ve seen a wide range of health issues in families who are exposed to radiation from transmission lines (and the smaller local distribution lines in the street, as well as wiring errors in the home itself which can produce strong magnetic fields). Sometimes people choose move away from the radiation exposure (to another bedroom or to another house) or sometimes we’re able to fix it after investigation and the assistance of an electrician and sometimes plumper. In those cases we often hear about near immediate improvement.
Some of the large amount of research data on magnetic fields that transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur and other cities produce, can be found in the Bioinitiative Report the data of which is still just as valid as when it was released. Go to www.bioinitiative.org and download this 1600 page ‘summary’ of available research on the effects of EMF radiation from electricity and transmitters like phones, phone towers and Wi-Fi.
Transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur are very close to homes
Kuala Lumpur is a big city with a vast amount of people. In order to offer cheaper housing it seems all available land is made available and developed. For professionals like myself, it is painful to see how these structures snake through the landscape so close to people’s homes. In the video shown here I take you for a walk near transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur, right next to a new development. This was recorded during an EMF awareness tour in 2022 as we frequently visit the Asian region.
Will I feel the effects transmission line radiation immediately?
For most people the effects on their body are not quickly clear. For some, small things can be noticed and sometimes our body it trying to tell us it is not happy. Feelings of pressure in the head, a tensing of muscles in the neck, frequent headaches (more than 3-4 times a month) when at home, can all be early warning signs that your environment is bothering you. Prolonged exposure can of course result in more serious health issues, or a general decline in health which is in my experience discounted by the residents as they figure it is just that they are ‘getting older’. All this just highlights the need to measure this radiation before signing up for any home… buying or renting. For those living near transmission lines in Kuala Lumpur the need to assess this is EMF radiation type is both urgent and important. Below we’ll recommend a good but simple to use amateur EMF meter that you can purchase with a small online course so you can at least investigate magnetic fields yourself.
Typical symptoms of transmission line radiation
There seems to be proven link between this low-level radiation and how it impairs the function of voltage gated calcium channels in the cells of the human body. Resulting in an increase of calcium intake when not required, damaging or killing the cell ahead of it’s time. As the central nervous system is rich in this sort of cells, the effects of exposure as well as the symptoms experiences can be very wide ranging. Here is a ‘small’ list of symptoms often linked to EMF radiation exposure:
- Headaches, heart palpitations, anxiety, feeling of muscle tension
- Difficulty getting pregnant, sperm abnormalities or miscarriages.
- Cancer and childhood leukaemia
- and much more
Are transmission lines the only cause of magnetic fields?
No. Without getting too technical, magnetic fields are caused by current, the usage or flow or electricity. First thing you should now is that this varies and can increase over time. So ‘acceptable’ levels today can be very different in 2-3 years when more houses are build and more power hungry devices are used. Here are things or situations that produce magnetic fields:
- Transmission lines (the big power lines or ‘walkers’ going through your country)
- Local distribution lines (the smaller power lines going up and down most street. Above or underground doesn’t matter)
- Internal wiring of your home or apartment if wrongly installed.
- A broken or compromised neutral connection of your property to the power grid.
- A broken or compromised neutral connection to the power grid of a nearby property who’s current can flow through your home to get back to the grid.
- Solar panels
- Inverters
- Electrical floor heating (not so common in Kuala Lumpur 🙂 )
How do I find out if I’m exposed to magnetic fields from transmission lines?
The best way to know if you are exposed to what we would deem too high levels of magnetic fields is to either get a professional (like one of our trained consultants) to come and investigate your home, or you can investigate just magnetic fields reasonably well yourself with good amateur meter. I stress ‘just magnetic fields’ because there are more issues in a home, far more common issues of radiation exposure in a home (like electric fields and radio frequency radiation) for which you WILL need professional assistance to investigate on the body what your exposure is like. However, with a quality gauss meter and some proper instruction I’m confident you can assess if you have a problem at home with magnetic fields.
Which meter to buy to assess magnetic fields from transmission lines?
You need to invest a little bit of money to get something that works well. You can buy meter for the price of a nice mean, but these are hardly the quality of meter you want to rely on. Training is also important, so you know what you are doing. EMF meters don’t tend to come with how to use manual (just like cars don’t come with a driver course). The TF2 Trifield Meter is good value for money and when purchased in our online shop you can select to have a self-guided online course (with about 3 hours of video lessons) come with it at a big discount.
Find the TF2 with nearly free online course in the shop.
